Confessions of a Shopaholic

Looking for a FUNNY chick-flick?  Not a sob-fest, actually funny, chick-flick?  Then you have got to rent Confessions of a Shopaholic.  Personal Faves is often but not always about buying new things.  I have found since being on maternity leave (and thus broke!) my shopping habits have seriously changed / I don’t shop.  David and I haven’t even gone to see a movie probably since Graham arrived in February.  Kind of pathetic, I know.  I discuss this because renting a movie can be a cheap, really fun way to spend an evening.  If you have a good movie anyway!

I’m going to try my hand at uploading the trailer: my first wordpress video uploading experience.

Confessions of a Shopaholic Trailer

This was such a cute movie.  Isla Fisher is hysterical.  I was truly impressed and surprised with her superb physical comedy.  There is a dance scene that had me laughing like crazy.  Hugh Dancy wasn’t bad to look at either!  I think I totally related to this movie because I have always been a bit of a shopaholic myself.  Don’t get me wrong… I have no credit card debt… BUT seriously one of the ladies in the BCBG area of Macy’s used to know me by name, as did most of the employees in the dress department at Bloomingdale’s.  The movie captures a lot of the reasons why people shop and makes you examine that a bit.  So, it’s a chick flick with a moral!  And, even my stepdude Frank and hubby David got a kick out of it.   Hope you enjoy it as much as I did and this personal fave shouldn’t cost you too much at all!  :)

I only saw half the movie, but yes, I can vouch for it.  Did anyone else notice all the YSL plugs?

I actually watched this movie with hubby today.  Was actually good and he agreed with me.  Wasn’t as chicky as he expected.
Tim and I haven’t been to a movie since I was pregnant with Kaileigh, so sometime in 2006… Yeah… we stink, but our “friend”  and redbox ar our friends to keep up with movies.  Much easier and cheaper to sit on the couch infront of our big TV with a beer and some popcorn, with the kids in bed.

Thanks for the tip – and if you ever decide to do a post on movies NOT to rent, make sure to include “Revolutionary Road” on that one. Jason and I just rented it and it was definitely one of the top 3 movies we’ve seen in our life. It started off ok but just got more and more depressing…not only did we waste 2 hours, but now my movie picking privelages have been revoked for a short time. :)

Libby, I had heard that “Revolutionary Road” makes you never want to get married.  I decided to stay away from that one!  David and I hardly ever agree on movies to watch.  If you ever have any recommendations let me know.
