Love Walked in

A big apology to my loyal readers (all 5 of you :) ) It has been TOO long since my last post.  For those of you who don’t know me I just returned to work after 7 months of maternity leave.  Boy was that a rude awakening!!  My personal fave these days has been sitting on the couch and watching t.v.  or going to bed at 8 p.m.  Regardless, I am back to posting so be ready for some more great faves.

Love Walked In by Marisa de los Santos is  one of my favorite books ever.  The review on Amazon calls it “chick lit” and I proclaim that is my favorite kind of book!  [also love anything Jane Austen if that gives you some insight into my preferences]  Anyway it’s just a charming tale of love– not only romantic but familial.  Charming is really the best way I can describe it.  Her style is unique, flowy, and beautiful.  I only wish that I could mold the English language the way de los Santos can.  I brought it on vacation once to Acapulco and could not put the book down.  I think I read it in a few hours.  Back in the good old days when 1) I could go on vacation 2) said vacation consisted of lounging by the pool, quality time with the hubby, and Corona and 3) I had enough brain power to read.

Reading is such a recession-friendly way to spend your time.  Just hit up your local library or buy it used on Amazon.  If you’re a busy mom like myself it may be hard to find time to read this book but trust me, it’s worth it.  You will smile for years afterward.

I don’t have a child to raise and I can’t seem to manage to update my ‘blog’ these days.. so, kudos! I haven’t read this book, but I do seem to remember it at my parent’s house awhile back. I’ll have to see if my mom still has it. Love Jane Austen as well and just recently watched The Jane Austen Book Club for the first time – cute movie.

Don’t forget to recommend “Belong to me” by de los Santos….equally charming and enticing. What great reads! Thanks for the recommendations!

I agree! I LOVED this book! I liked it even better than the sequel, actually.

Now that you’ve hijacked Mindy Kaling’s blog, you have far more than 5 readers.

Jess, all insults aside, you can find our reply to your comment here: http://www.personalfaves.com/post-to-the-visitors-from-thingsiboughtthatilove-com/

The blog is not hijacked, the domain expired, so we bought it and redirected it here. Maybe you’d rather see the Godaddy girls on the expired page, but most people would rather not.
